War on my canvas is an exhibition by four artists whose studios and work have been invaded by the war in Ukraine. Anton Shebetko, EtchingRoom1, En Rozen and Niek Verschoor show in direct or more subtle images the impact the Russian attacks in Ukraine are having on their work as artists.
OPENING Saturday 16 March. Introduction to the artists by Marianna Djulay, curator and director of “Kastanje”, Dutch-Ukrainian cultural centre. Opening by Liliya Levandovska, Ukrainian activist working at Radboud University, coordinator of the Nijmegen4Ukraine initiative. And in the presence of Andrew Unstoppable (Andriy Siromakha)

Twin sisters slaughtered by the Russians
The 14-year-old twin sisters Yuliia and Anna Aksenchenko were killed on Tuesday, 27 June 2023 in the Russian missile attack on the Ria Pizza restaurant in the town of Kramatorsk, Ukraine.
The Russian attack on the pizza restaurant, which housed up to eighty customers and staff at that time, has killed thirteen people, including three teenagers, and injured more than sixty others.
Yuliya and Anna were students at Primary School No.2. The Department of Education of the Kramatorsk City Council said Yuliya and Anna would have turned 15 in September before a “Russian rocket stopped the beating of the hearts of two angels.”

Двох сестер-близнючок, вбитих росіянами
Дві сестри-близнючки Юлія і Анна Алексенченко були вбиті у вівторок, 27 червня 2023 року під час російської ракетної атаки на ресторан Ріа Піца у місті Краматорськ, Україна.
Російська атака на піцерію, в якій в той час перебувало близько 80 відвідувачів та працівників, вбила 13 людей, включно із трьома підлітками, та завдала ран більш, ніж 60 людям.
Юлія та Анна були школярками в школі №2. Відділ освіти міської ради Краматорська зазначив, що Юлії та Анні мало виповнитись 15 років у вересні, але «російська ракета зупинила стукіт сердець двох ангелів».
